An indicator of a ‘healthy’ supermarket is the percentage of junk-food-free checkouts. In a NZ study of 204 supermarkets (Pak n Save, Countdown and New World), only 1 supermarket had all check-outs junk-free. On average, NZ supermarkets only have 15% junk-food-free checkouts.
